Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) PVoC Enforcement for Medical Devices, Food Supplements, Medical Cosmetics, Herbal Products and other Healthcare Borderline products exported to Kenya.

News Date:2017.08.29

Intertek is accredited by KEBS to issue the Certificates of Conformity needed for customs clearance and in order to assure Kenyan consumers of the safety and total quality of the imported goods they buy.

To protect the public against imported products that do not comply with local quality standards and technical regulations, ALL Imported Medical Devices, Food Supplements, Medical Cosmetics, Herbal Products and Other Allied Healthcare Borderline Products falling under the regulated mandate of Pharmacy and Poisons Board MUST now comply with Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) to Standards programme implemented by KEBS (Kenya Bureau of Standards).

This new requirement is effective for all goods arriving as from 1st September 2017.

Exporters of these products are therefore required to obtain Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for their shipments from a KEBS approved PVoC agent, such as Intertek, for customs clearance purposes.

Intertek are the pioneers of PVoC programmes having introduced the very first one over 20 years ago and with our network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices and over 42,000 people in more than 100 countries, delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for our customers’ operations and supply chains.
